Aug Meeting-Guest: Cassandra Beaver

Updated: Dec 9, 2021

Our guild was excited to host the amazing and talented Cassandra Beaver of The Not so Dramatic Life (http://thenotsodramaticlife.com/) at our August meeting. Cassandra is a member of the Central Ohio MQG and recently had one of her quilts chosen to be the first modern quilt on permanent display at the National Quilt Museum in Paucah, Kentucky. She learned how to sew from her mom (also in attendance!) and we were fortunate to have her share some of her earliest works for childhood and beyond. Cassandra went on to study the arts, with a BFA in Painting and Drama and an MFA in Theatre Design. She showcases her beautiful quilts at shows and competitions around the country and often brings home the top prizes. She's been featured on the cover of quilt magazines and numerous publications displaying her work. We were fortunate enough to see and touch these true works of art at our meeting. Enjoy some pictures from the event below, but also make sure to visit Cassandra's blog (linked above) or her instagram (Cassandra.beaver) for more inspiration and details on her work. We all went home ready to try some new techniques!
